LAND AND CATTLE 9TH ANNUAL BULL SALE RESULTS A cold March day greeted the crowd for the 9th annual Severtson Land and Cattle bull sale. The high selling lot of the day was a fall born black son of the Severtson herdsire XZR Stubby SLC 313K brought a bid of $15,500 selling to Beartooth International of Columbus Montana.
SLC Rawhide 88L a son of SLC Cocoa 147H ET sold for $8000 to Decka Gelbvieh of Flatbush Alberta. The Schillers also picked up a Red Angus bull out of our Top Gun heardsire SLC Top Gun 263K for 5000$. John Phillips from Leslieville Alberta paid $5000 for a fall born bull SLC Stubby 293K a 75% gelbvieh bull. Gary Martins of Grunthal Manitoba picked up a Beartooth bull, BTI 2140L a bull out of SLC Anita 17F and TJB Redi 2 Rock 166F for $4100. Dale Bousquet of Consort Alberta purchased 4 bulls in total , SLC Stubby 181L a 50% black bull for $4000 and another bull at 4000$ SLC Icon 48L. John Walters of Delburne Alberta picked up SLC Stubby a fall born red 50% bull for $4000. Repeat buyer Mark Rupcich picked up 5 bulls one at $4000 another Stubby son SLC Stubby 182L a 75% red bull. Also repeat buyer Kent Olson bought 3 gelbvieh bulls and 2 black angus bulls, one at $4000 a BTI 2044L bull out of BTI General 2207G. Another repeat
customer was Hamada Ranch from Wasa BC picking up 3 bulls a red Freedom
son for $4000. Cattle sold
into 6 provinces and Montana.
Haglund Gelbvieh Ranch from Brockway, Montana selected RBLC Image 7K, an ET son of BB61Y and Black Image for $6000. SLC Blaze 207J, a 3/4 blood Stubby son sold for $5300 to Unger Land and Livestock of Olds, Alberta. Larry Ward of Prince George, British Columbia picked up 4 bulls including a purebred Red Angus Red SLC 80K out of our Top Gun herdsire for $5300. Larry also took home SLC Heavy Firepower 142K for $4700. BTI Duke 2118K, a Beartooth bull out of Lady Granite 2001E ET cow brought a bid of $4600 selling to Neil Caskey of Cereal, Alberta. Volume buyers of the day were Mark Rupcich from Kenaston, Saskatchewan purchasing 7 bulls for an average cost of $3792, and repeat buyers, Kent and Janine Olson from Red Deer, Alberta purchased 7 bulls. Cattle sold into 4 provinces and 2 states. Sale averages:

Previous Sale Bred
Gelbvieh Dispersal SLC 218F, two time Canadian National Champion and daughter of 54Y x Black Image, went to TJB Gelbviehs of Chickamauga, Georgia for $25,000 to become the sale high seller. Repeat buyer Larry Dutson of Delta, Utah paid $19,500 for 188C, a Centennial daughter. Baily Land and Livestock of Wetaskiwin, Alberta bought the next two high sellers; SLC Anita 113J, a direct daughter of 61Y x Night Ryder, for $11,700, and SLC Anita 120K ET, another 61Y daughter, for $10,200. Black Poplar Gelbvieh of Prince George, BC took home SLC Snip 81J for $8200. SLC Design 64H, a top Freedom daughter, sold to Oaktucky Farms of Kentucky for $8000. Volume buyers of the day were Wildwind Ranch of Medicine Hat, Alberta with 13 head, and V & V Farms of Redcliff, Alberta who bought 8 head. Cattle sold into 5 provinces and 5 states. |
